A national insurance provider are seeking a Junior Underwriting Controls Analyst to join their team

Job Purpose

Work as a member of the Underwriting Controls team within the Business Services Underwriting Management Function in order to help ensure that relevant underwriting activity is happening in accordance with:
* Company Underwriting Policies and Standards
* Lloyd's Minimum Underwriting Standards
* Company Compliance Policies and Standards
* FCA guidelines and principles
The role holder is a member of the Business Services Underwriting Management Function and will work under the direction of the Assistant Underwriting Controls Manager. The role will help embed the company's underwriting culture, standards and philosophy, ensuring that the relevant Underwriting Unit is operating in accordance with these principles.

Other Duties:
* Assist in the running and investigation of underwriting control reports on a monthly/quarterly basis, including but not limited to technical pricing and renewal movement adherence, lineguide monitoring and brokerage exception reporting.
* Assist with the resolution of data quality issues that are impacting the quality of MI.
* Undertake ad-hoc data requests from other Functions.
* Daily interaction with underwriting teams to respond to underwriter queries.
* Drive best practice within underwriting teams to improve the robustness of underwriting controls.
Credit Control
* Act as the point of contact for the Credit control team to ensure that underwriting teams are recording data accurately and ensuring that premiums are an accurate reflection of likely final income.
* Act as the point of escalation for the Credit control team to raise issues and deal with the underwriters appropriately.
The Operating Environment and Context of the Job
The role is very varied and has a monthly/quarterly timetable to follow to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner, and any deadlines are met. Sometimes, ad-hoc queries/problems occur which need to be actioned immediately. The role will also ensure that there is a consistent approach across all underwriting business units.

Person Specification
It is essential to have some insurance underwriting experience along with good Microsoft Office skills and exposure to underwriting controls
Some understanding and knowledge of the Lloyd's insurance market is essential
Having great Organisation skills
