Accounting Intern Morrisville , North Carolina
As an intern in the Financial Accounting Department you will be responsible for assisting the Department in a variety of accounting functions, including account reconciliation, month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, and special projects.
The internship program runs June 1st through August 7th. During the internship, you will get the opportunity to be a part of a book club with the CEO, to have lunch with the leadership team, and go through a resume & interview workshop. You will also have the opportunity to do a specific project to showcase your skills.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- When necessary, assist with balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
- Create journal entries on a monthly and as needed basis
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Manage high-detail, deadline-sensitive projects professionally with high quality in all deliverables.
- Assisting with special projects, which will vary and be directed by various members in the Finance and Accounting team
- Perform and produce various reconciliations and ad hoc reports
- Shadow various employees to understand the different functions and duties
- Research various accounting and process improvement topics and provide recommendations
- Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in an Accounting or Finance Degree program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong analytical skills and highly self-motivated. Exceptional time management skills
- Intention to sit for CPA exam upon graduation is preferred
