Entry Level Support Worker Larne, County Antrim £17k (p.a)

Your new company
We are working exclusively with a leading Charitable organisation that focus on the needs of the homeless. This service provides supported living care to service users who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless / have complex needs / have low mental health.

Your new role
You will ensure the needs of service users within the accommodation are met effectively promoting independence through support, development and progression.

You will be in a permanent position working 35 hours per week working at supported living sites in Larne. Hours of work will be rotation shift pattern including working evening, weekends and waking nights on a 24 x 7 shift pattern, this is usually made up of 3 shifts per week working 12.5 hours.

Entry level staff will progress to full support worker salary on successful completion of their probationary period which includes accredited induction programme.

Training opportunities for Entry Level Support Workers
You will undertake a comprehensive inhouse learning and development programme which will help you to progress professionally in the sector. All new staff will undertake a Level 3 Induction Programme which is accredited and includes all mandatory training.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 6 months experience within the last 3 years working (either paid or voluntary) directly supporting people with complex and multiple needs within a residential or community setting. Complex needs can include homeless prevention, substance misuse, offending, mental health, young people
  • IT skills - ability to use email, internet and databases to electronically record support work
  • NISCC registered or willing to get registered as well as agreeing to an enhanced Access NI check
  • Driving license and access to a car is desirable but not essential
