The Trust has worked with QA for over 8 years and successfully supported learners to achieve their apprenticeship.

Vacancy description:

The post holder will, where possible and dependant on mentor and department availability, work through a rotational programme, spending time in each of the IM&T departments, learning different skills and increasing their knowledge of each of the IM&T functions through both on the job training and external training courses.

Main role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:

  • Undertaking IM&T tasks in the areas where they are assigned
  • Agreeing a development plan with the IM&T Services Manager and their interim line manager for the duration of their placement
  • Delivering objectives set out for the placement period
  • Travelling and attending external training courses as agreed as part of the apprenticeship

Key IM&T tasks

  • Work closely with assigned mentor for each placement,
  • Provide assistance within all types of IM&T work in the team you are allocated to,
  • Complete allocated tasks to agreed timescales,
  • Develop IM&T knowledge and skills through the course of undertaken duties,
  • Assisting in controlling and tracking of work in placement in respect to time, cost, and quality,
  • Assisting in the coordination of meetings, as needed, to initiate placement sessions,
  • Assisting in the gathering and reporting of action status for each placement,
  • Escalate issues / concerns to Mentor as appropriate,
  • Communicate appropriate information to ensure excellence and quality in the IM&T departments
  • Embrace new processes and disciplines as they are introduced and constantly strive to improve standards.

General

  • Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
  • Act consistently with legislation, policies, procedures and other quality approaches and alert others to the need for improvements to quality.
  • Work effectively in own team and as part of the whole organisation.
  • Prioritise, organise and carry out own work effectively.
  • Any other duties, which may be requested by the manager to facilitate the smooth running of the department.

Desired qualification requirements:

5 GCSEs total: English and Maths GCSE grade D or above and 3x GCSEs grade A-C in any subject

Working week: There will be two split shifts of 8am-4pm & 9.30am-6pm.

Salary: £18,005 Per Annum

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
