Exciting Opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator

The Post

This is a one-year (until 31.03.21) grant funded role in a team working with our new and emerging communities to deliver the community services and activities. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for developing a local volunteer programme of community champions, which includes recruiting, assessing, supporting and managing the community champions, who will be supporting the delivery of the Migration Fund Community Programme and other volunteer-involving projects in the Council.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of setting up volunteer programmes, recruiting and managing volunteers, volunteering policies and good practice, community development principles, working with diverse communities, experience of facilitating groups, have excellent people and relationship building skills, be well organised, work on your own initiative and have experience of setting up new projects. With a 'can-do' attitude, able to take the initiative and creative in problem solving and project delivery.

You will have a willingness to work evening and weekends as required.
