Corporate Accounting Intern / C0-0P Bristol , Connecticut

Barnes Group Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Corporate Accounting Internal Controls CO-OP/Intern at the corporate office. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Manager, Business and Financial Controls as well as other managers and staff throughout the Company. In this role, the individual supports functions of the Corporate Accounting department primarily related to internal controls. Core Responsibilities:?
  • Assist in performing Entity Level Control procedures
  • Communicate Corporate deliverables to the global BGI management team
  • Monitor the Internal Controls intranet portal for submissions by BGI divisional management
  • Prepare status updates for distribution to SBU, Segment, and Corporate management
  • Assist with developing presentations as necessary in support of numerous initiatives
  • Gain a working knowledge of the hierarchical structure of BGI
  • Collaborate with IT to effectively maintain SharePoint internal System
  • Provide general clerical and other administrative and accounting support.
  • Support the Manager, Business and Financial Controls with various projects and initiatives.
Qualifications: ?????????
  • Must be an Accounting or Finance major in third or fourth year of college
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and share information, knowledge, and expertise with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well with others with limited supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi task and meet deadlines
  • Develop effective working relationships which foster integrity and respect
Education Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance
