Child Care Worker Trainee / Experienced Sessional Residential Support £9 (p.a)

Trainee or Experienced Sessional Residential Support Child Care Worker who has empathy, understanding and who will always be thinking of the best interests of the child, is required to join a small family friendly team in Weymouth, Dorset, South West England.

SALARY: £9 per Hour + Plus Sleep-In Payment

LOCATION: Weymouth, Dorset, South West England

JOB TYPE: Contract

WORKING HOURS: 39 Hours per Week on a flexible working shift pattern which includes working weekends, bank holidays, religious / cultural celebrations and sleep-in duties.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for Trainee or Experienced Sessional Residential Support Child Care Worker s to join a home based on the outskirts of Weymouth, just 30 minutes from the town centre with the beach nearby. The home is for a solo placement where an incredible team support a Young Person aged 8-17.

The organisation aims is to provide an in-depth understanding of the young person's life and how related patterns of behaviour affect everyday choices of how they live. As a team they believe this will support the young person to reach their full life potential. They aim to support young people to be able to manage their emotions and behaviours in a more positive way by ensuring the home is a safe, positive, therapeutic environment in which their young person can thrive.

As a Trainee or Experienced Sessional Residential Support Child Care Worker , you will walk into a small family friendly team who have developed strong bonds and relationships not only with the children but also with each other, as a Sessional Residential Support Child Care Worker you will support the Team with various shifts throughout the week and can be flexible around that.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Sessional Residential Support Child Care Worker :

  • Support the safeguarding of children
  • Be alert to signs of abuse or distress, monitor and record the physical and emotional needs of the children
  • Help provide a safe, supportive home environment.
  • Provide children with safe, predictable and consistent responses that demonstrate your ability to remain calm and focused on their needs in highly stressful situations (Full training and on-going support is provided)
  • Assist in the effective running of the home: supporting children in their daily routine, attendance at school, administering medication, house duties etc.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the, you will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Need to be over the age of 19
  • Must have a Full UK Driving license
  • Must have a passion for working with children
  • Level 3 (or be prepared to take the course) Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Flexibility and understanding that the organisation is open all year round, you will be expected to go on holiday with the children and work over Christmas to make their memories special
