Role: PHP Developer
Location: Leicester
Salary - £21,000 - £24,000
A technology company based in Leicester are looking for a Junior PHP Developer to assist with supporting software systems, maintaining code, developing new features, bug fixes and feature requests.
Responsibilities:
● Supporting existing software systems
● Diagnosing and fixing bugs
● Scoping out and developing new features to specification and deadline
● Maintaining code
Skills:
● At least 1 year experience as a Developer
● PHP, both procedural and object oriented (MVC, e.g. Laravel - we use Slim and aspire to Laravel-level elegance)
● JavaScript
● MySQL
● LAMP Stack
● HTML, CSS, SCSS/SASS
Desirable skills:
● Reactive JavaScript (e.g. Vue, Angular, React)
● RESTful API development
● Docker
● Composer
Person Characteristics:
● Team player with a can do attitude
● Results orientated
● Either graduate or self-taught with demonstrable passion and commitment to standards
● Methodical, calm, pleasant and with a can-do attitude to problem solving
● Understanding of the trade-offs between doing it perfectly and doing it rapidly
● Commitment to learning/self-teaching e.g. use of tutorials/personal projects
