Entry Level Police Officer. North Platte, Nebraska

The City of North Platte is looking for individuals of high moral character to join our Department as an

entry level Police Officer.

The North Platte Police Department is a Professional Law Enforcement Organization that believes in continuing education and training. The North Platte Police Department is a stable and secure work environment which has never laid off an employee or relocated an employee to another state or community.

Nebraska Certified Police Officers may now lateral into the North Platte Police Department as an entry-level patrol officer. Starting salary is $22.44 per hour. Additional benefits include sign on bonus, vacation and sick leave.

For Non-Nebraska Certified applicants, starting salary is $19.58 per hour. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age with no Felony and Misdemeanor Record.

All applicants must be able to obtain a valid Nebraska Driver's License.

Successful applicants with an AA degree or higher receive an additional bonus

Police Officers may live up to 25 miles from North Platte.

It is the mission of the North Platte Police Department to preserve the peace and order and to enforce the laws, ordinances, and rulings of the State and City. This mission shall be accomplished by the effective performance of the following functions:
Maintenance of law enforcement presence and availability 24 hours a day.
Timely and rapid response to criminal incidents and other requests for police services.
Preliminary investigation of criminal offenses and apprehension of perpetrators of crimes.
Maintenance of a smooth, orderly, and safe flow of traffic and the active enforcement of traffic laws.
Performance of crime prevention and other public information activities designed to involve citizens in maintaining public safety.
Provision of other services, as necessary, to help accomplish the overall mission.
