The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.

The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently seeking experienced Front End Web Developers to join the NSA Web team responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art websites and web applications for the Agency intranet, and performing all aspects of designing, developing, publishing, and maintaining the content and applications for the NSA.gov website

Description of the Position

As a Front End Web Developer, your responsibilities may include:

-consulting extensively with customers to elicit project requirements, provide content strategy services, and establish and communicate project timelines and milestones
-collaborating with team members, as needed, to ensure technical solutions are implemented to meet project requirements
-communicating ideas through low and high fidelity mockups
-designing, developing, and implementing user-friendly, professional, visually-pleasing websites and user-interfaces for web applications

Experience in the following is required:

- Designing graphics appropriate for websites (e.g. web limitations, screen resolutions, how to create graphics for use in HTML layouts, etc).
- Creating and effectively arranging graphics, images and all other content into a creative, cohesive, functional, and visually-pleasing website utilizing best practices in User Interface/User Experience design.
- Turning a graphic layout into a fully functional web page (i.e., knowing how to slice up graphics and layouts into an HTML framework).
- Translating written/verbal themes and ideas into appropriate visual design.
- Creating original artwork using image editing programs (ability to illustrate a plus).
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS required. Must be comfortable hand-coding HTML without use of a WYSIWYG. Proficiency using CSS for layout and positioning. Proficiency in JavaScript a plus.
- Proficiency with Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Knowledge of requirements as defined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act a plus.
- Strong understanding of web design principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, navigation, and usability principles.

Additional qualifications include an online portfolio showing recent examples of your web design work demonstrating your UX and graphic design skills. Applicants without a current web design portfolio will not be considered.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Salary Range: $48,670 - $77,396 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Degree must be in Web Design or Web Development, or a related field (e.g., Web Technologies, Computer Science, Programming, Visual Communications, Human-centered computing, Graphic Design).

Relevant experience must be in visual communication of information (e.g., layout, design and navigation principles, information architecture, content strategy, usability). Must also demonstrate knowledge (through coursework or experience) in using web-authoring software, graphic design software, and web programming languages.

Additional qualifications include an online portfolio showing recent examples of your web design work demonstrating your UX and graphic design skills. Applicants without a current web design portfolio will not be considered.

Salary Range: $72,030 - $112,240 (Full Performance)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Degree must be in Web Design or Web Development, or a related field (e.g., Web Technologies, Computer Science, Programming, Visual Communications, Human-centered computing, Graphic Design).
