Your Responsibilities
The General Accounting internship will give you the opportunity to experience general accounting practices for a privately held, medium sized corporation. This internship will provide Accounting students with a great opportunity to achieve the following objectives:
  • Assist in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform department variance analysis during month end close process
  • Assist in electronic document filing initiatives
  • Prepare monthly compliance management reports
  • Ad Hoc analysis at the request of management
  • Utilize SAP, a widely used accounting system
  • Work with all levels of department personnel
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
The ideal intern will possess the following:
  • Working towards a bachelor?s degree in the following area(s): Accounting or Finance, including completion of the multiple core Accounting curriculum
  • Entering Senior year of college
  • General understanding of US GAAP
  • Solid PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments
  • Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member
  • Takes ownership and accountability of projects and responsibilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed
  • Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks
  • Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers and directors
