Grad Intern - Ops (Process Development) Cambridge , Massachusetts

Amgen is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics. This approach begins by using tools like advanced human genetics to unravel the complexities of disease and understand the fundamentals of human biology. Our mission is to serve patients, and we encompass this with each initiative, goal and task we have in mind!

Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

Amgen's Biological Relevance and Characterization group in Process Development is seeking a summer intern. The intern will perform studies on functional characterization of antibody Fc- mediated activities to support development of biosimilar and novel antibody therapeutics. Antibody Fc-mediated effector function activities play a major role in the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of antibody therapeutics. The critical quality attributes (CQA) such as glycan levels have a significant impact on the effector function activities. The effect of CQA on the antibody effector functions such as antibody mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and Fc binding to various Fc receptors and complement protein C1q is being studied.

The internship will allow the opportunity to utilize various label-free binding techniques to characterize novel antibody therapeutics. The intern will have the opportunity to be trained on variety of effector function technologies, with a focus on utilizing SPR and BLI instrumentation.
