Graduate Apprentice - Civil Engineering Dundee, Angus £11k - £20k (p.a)

Job Description
Based in Dundee House, 50 North Lindsay Street, you will be part of the Network Management team providing an engineering service to City Development and partners.

You will undertake a four year period of structured work-based training via a Graduate Apprenticeship in conjunction with the University of Dundee.

You will work full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, inclusive of university attendance for study on day release basis.

Requirements
You will have a Modern Apprenticeship in a relevant area and Higher Maths and a Science or Engineering Higher (Physics is preferred)

Or
A Foundation Apprenticeship in a relevant area and Higher Maths and a Science or Engineering Higher (Physics is preferred)

Or
BBBB at Higher including Maths and a Science or Engineering Higher (Physics is preferred)

Or
Equivalent (for example, a HNC equivalent might be: a relevant HNC with B in the Graded Unit including Mathematics for Engineering 1 preferred)

Responsibilities
You will provide a civil engineering service as directed by the Senior Engineer or Team Leader.

The Post Holder will be expected to attend the University of Dundee for four years and also receive training to give an introduction to the wider aspects of Civil Engineering through work based learning.

The Individual
You will have an interest in pursuing a career in Civil Engineering and undertaking Higher education to develop learning and understanding in Civil Engineering environment.

You should possess good communication skills and problem solving abilities.

You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, display initiative, take direction and work as part of a team.

You will possess computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel and preferably CAD packages.
