About the school:

The Academy is continuing to expand and due to its popularity and increasing student numbers, a new £6 million wing was opened in September 2018. This extension is an addition to the £20.6 million state-of-the-art building that was completed September 2012, giving every student the opportunity to learn in an exciting and inspiring environment at an Academy that has been recognised for its high standards of inclusion. The new wing includes purpose-built science laboratories to accommodate our rapidly expanding sixth form. The successful Geography Trainee Teacher will:

Be able to relate to children of all abilities, you will be able to effectively teach the most able and offer challenge in your lessons, (in time) being able to design and deliver engaging and purposeful lessons is a must. You will also be able to inspire students, using your enthusiasm & enjoyment of Geography to ensure all students reach their full potential.

You will also:

• Hold a minimum of a 2:2 bachelor's degree (specialising within Geography)
• Have a GCSE Grade C or 4 in Mathematics and English Language
• Be passionate about teaching and making a difference to young people
• Have the presence and character to relate to the students aged between 11-18.
