Human Resources Intern Peoria, Illinois

RLI is looking for an intern to work in our Human Resources department, beginning in Spring 2020 and continuing through Summer 2020. This position will be in our Peoria, IL Home Office. Work hours during the school year are flexible between 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday, dependent on class schedule. Hours over the summer are full-time (8:30-5, M-F).

The internship will be split between two core areas within the HR department, HRIS and Organizational Development. Specifically, the intern will have the opportunity to:

Assist with the implementation of the organization's new core HR system, Workday:
  • Perform system testing and documentation of test cases
  • Assist with job aids and training materials
  • Assist with creation of job descriptions and population in the Workday system
  • Research and assist with creation of user dashboards
Lead and participate in the organization's summer intern program:
  • Work with functional leaders to schedule presentations to the intern group
  • Coordinate charitable and social events for the intern group
  • Work on a summer-long project and present to senior leadership
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated success in a classroom setting, natural curiosity and desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Workday or HRIS experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Required Experience
  • Junior or Senior student of any major although a preference toward Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Psychology or related field.
