Human Resources Intern Providence, Rhode Island


Job Description


Provide human resources (HR) support to the Human Resources Operations team. Understand business needs in order to assist with the delivery of HR projects, policies, and programs. Act as liaison to other HR functions to ensure achievement of business objectives.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide administrative and analytic support and maintenance of HR systems, data, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate HR data to identify and review trends that impact the business. Make recommendations based on the results and recommend actions in conjunction with current trends.
  • Support electronic and hard-copy records retention activities to ensure proper maintenance, upkeep, and disposal of records are managed in accordance with current laws and policies.
  • Maintain workflows, records, and files. Review workflows and make recommendations to increase efficiencies.
  • Assist team with department initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or matriculating status from four-year college or university.
  • Human Resources, Communications, or other related focus of study.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Recruitment and/or experience/interest in recruiting strategies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse employee population.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and organize large amounts of data.
  • Knowledge of general mathematical principles, including ratios and percentages.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with all level of the organization in and outside of Human Resources.
  • Flexible, agile, and willing to shift and adapt to current business needs as necessary.
