The Team

The Role

Provide and support industrial design expertise to Fellowes industrial design projects. Majority of work will be achieved as a designer supporting senior designers and performing individual tasks per project basis. The expectation is that this work will elevate the industrial design quality and bandwidth. This full time temporary position is an 8 week commitment.

You Will…

  • Support the creative, aesthetic and design direction of products based on business team objectives and strategies
  • Assist internal resources to create new product concepts and deliver on product vision and success criteria
  • Generate new product ideas and enhancements through creative thinking, incorporating market research, consumer research, competitive analysis, customer input/feedback and advances in technology
  • Work on a wide range of product design that focus on office-wellbeing & productivity
  • Be given real projects with real deadlines and real accountability
  • Experience the full circle of product design from inception to production
  • Have room to breathe and be creative in an open and collaborative environment

What You Bring to the Team

  • Current enrollment in an Industrial Design degree program
  • Excellent hand/digital sketching capability
  • Excellence in concept generation and articulation
  • 2D tools proficiency - Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
  • Experience in publication tools such as InDesign, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Foundational understanding in Industrial Design (theory and practice)
  • General knowledge in ID related software (SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • A high level of creativity and curiosity
  • A team-player and self-starter attitude
  • A learning orientation that allows you to stay in-tune with emerging technology, trends, fashion, etc.
  • A results-oriented disposition and a passion for working on fast-paced and fast-changing projects

You May Also Have…

  • Experience with a variety of materials and manufacturing processes including injection molded plastics, soft/hard goods, preferably in consumer electronics/goods, and optionally in furniture design is a big plus
