Information Analyst Apprentice / IT Apprentice Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire £18k (p.a)

About the role:
Are you an enthusiastic individual who has a passion and creativity for data!! Do you thrive on artificial intelligence and how data is transformed into valuable information!! The ideal candidate for this apprenticeship is for someone who is looking to kick start their career as an IT Analyst Apprentice.

The lucky apprentice will be assisting the IT team in exploring innovative ways to use existing and new statistical, predictive, machine learning and artificial intelligence tools, to find valuable patterns in data and transforming this into valuable information for our organisation. Using a data science approach, this post will turn our data into stories and encourage data driven decisions.

Requirements and prospects
What we're looking for:
  • Understanding of Data Science within the context of data governance, data security and communications
  • Understanding how data can be used through an awareness of key platforms for data and analysis including on-premise and cloud technologies
  • Understanding of data landscape. Use of tools and techniques to source, access, explore, profile, pipeline, combine, transform and store data, and apply quality control, security, privacy to data
  • Use analysis and models to inform and improve organisational outcomes. Make recommendations to contribute towards business goals
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Awareness of other general DB concepts such as stored procedures, joins, views, indexes, triggers, etc.
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI)

Desired qualification
Minimum 3 A Levels A-C grades 8-4 points (including 1 STEM subject)

Future aspirations
We are a smallish IT team who is working within a bigger IT team that growing and expanding very fast. Once you have been confirmed from your fixed term contract, to a permanent contract you will be appointed as a IT Analyst and also have the opportunity to do your Level 6 in IT Analyst.

Things to consider:
15-month fixed term contract. During this time, you will have 20% off the job learning, which is 1 day a week with the training provider and 4 days a week in the office. You will have the opportunity to work from home.
Please be aware once you have been selected after the assessment day, there will be a pre-interview with Whithat before an offer is made.
