Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES located in East Fishkill, NY is seeking 2020 Summer Engineering Interns. Engineer Interns sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Starting in May of 2020 Intern positions are Monday thru Friday 40 hours a week during the summer and part-time shift worker during the school year if applicable. Please note the shift positions can be a compressed / alternate work schedule comprised of 12-hour shifts.


Essential Responsibilities:



  • Interact with customers such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.

  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement, utilization and cost.

  • Complete all required reporting and documentation, timely and accurately.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development, focusing on projects such as:

  • Update Site Systems for our Buildings.

  • Come up with System operating costs for specific Systems across Site.

  • Obtain measured / Field verified readings and update Site reporting Databases.

  • Model Operating Cost of a typical system versus a standard and offer Energy efficiency assessments.

  • Document system performances against adjacent Sites.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all environmental, health, safety & security requirements and programs.



Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

Enrolled in a 4 Year Bachelor Degree program in Engineering, Math, Science, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related disciplineFluency in English Language - written & verbalPhysical Capacity Demands:Able to perform shift work if needed; including working in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor industry and GLOBALFOUNDRIES protocol/requirements.Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and proper PPE when required throughout a work day, excluding breaks.Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or mechanical work. Preferred Qualifications: Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing, process equipment, and a cleanroom manufacturing environment.Proficiency with software applications: Microsoft Office, Google Suite.Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems.Familiarity with Lean processes & activities and Kaizen teams.Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of statistical data.Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures, read facilities building and sub-system printsComplete tasks and required documentation; effectively demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, new team members as needed based on assignment, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
