Are you interested in developing your career in user experience? We are looking for a talented Junior UX/UI Designer to join our clients' design team in central Oxford. The new Junior UX/UI Designer will be joining a highly talented design team and will receive an abundance of support and training to help you grow your career in the industry.

The role of Junior UX/UI Designer is challenging yet rewarding offering the chance to working on meaningful projects that make positive impacts to society, particularly in the health and social care industries but also for exciting clients within science, technology and engineering. The Junior UX/UI Designer position is ideal for a bright graduate with a year or so experience with visual and/or digital user design.

Your daily responsibilities will involve:

  • Support the UX Design Lead with various tasks and duties on a daily basis
  • Gain experience running user research sessions (such as contextual research, stakeholder workshops, user interviews, usability testing)
  • Executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off
  • Creation of design systems/style guides that meet the needs of the user, but also provide ease of navigation'
  • Work effectively alongside the designers as part of the design team to provide rapid support and feedback on tasks involving UI design
  • UX journey analysis and configuration to ensure a consistent approach to the customer journeys
  • Solve problems by balancing user needs with business objectives
  • As you become more experienced take ownership of some projects.

The ideal Junior UX/UI Designer candidate will have the following skill & experience:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates your experience in UX/UI design, your design thinking and attention to detail (can include academic or personal projects)
  • Proficient with Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD etc)
  • Some sort of industry experience as a digital designer (or similar)
  • Visual design skills (including grid systems and typography)
  • Previous UI experience with an excellent sense of visual and user interface design
  • An understanding of accessibility and inclusive design
  • Conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of the way the web works
  • Have experience with wire-framing, prototyping & presenting ideas to stakeholders.
  • Some knowledge of HTML/CSS or an interest in learning.

This role is based in Oxford city centre and has excellent rail and bus connections. It is highly commutable from Banbury, Didcot, Bicester, Aylesbury, Reading, Swindon, Abingdon, Witney and many more. My client are also happy to accept candidates who need to relocate.
