Commercial, Marketing MBA Intern Sunnyvale , California

As an AbbVie Summer Intern, you will participate in a paid, ten-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our office in Sunnyvale, CA, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students.

General Position:

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in healthcare or the pharma/biotech industry, and who aspire to make a remarkable impact in the lives of patients with cancer. The intern will support various product management and marketing initiatives to help implement a new metrics/KPI dashboard for the patient and digital marketing teams. Enhance current CRM health care professional strategy including integration of marketing non-personal promotions with sales representative personal touchpoints. Optimize media and digital creative strategy for second half of the year based on 1H performance metrics. Demonstrate leadership skills and can manager multiple initiatives as the same time.

Assignment Details:

  • Create high-impact and visually appealing presentation decks
  • Ability to work independently as well in a team
  • Handle multiple requests simultaneously under pressure with both concurrent and conflicting deadlines
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
  • Perform market analysis and research on competition
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Prepare promotional presentations
  • Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM )


Basics:

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited University graduate program
  • Graduate Level Student -- MBA Program
  • Be an active student in good standing at an accredited university
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).


Preferred:

  • Be in an MBA program of a US accredited university prior to internship start date
  • 2 to 3 years of previous work experience in product management, consulting, or a degree in marketing or a scientific discipline is desired
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, good communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Detail oriented
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Suite


Final Presentation:

Each Intern is expected to prepare a short presentation to their team to share what they have learned through their internship and how they hope their new knowledge will help them secure their future career. Presentations should be 10 - 15 minutes long and should include visual aid (posters or PowerPoint).
