The Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division is located in Springfield, Va. The ATE Division is the rail industry's source for high-speed and intercity rail safety, track inspection systems, track inspection services, vehicle evaluation testing, rail asset management, and rail security.

ATE employees bring together decades of experience and the latest technologies, including laser scanners, real-time signal processing, machine vision, GPS/inertial navigation, wireless communication, and Web data management. The result is efficient, effective products and services that meet the precise needs of the rail community.

Job Description
ENSCO's Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs, develops and manufactures precision, high-speed, real-time vehicle and track inspection systems for the national and international railway market. The ATE Division has an opening for a motivated, self-starting Mechanical Engineer Intern with an interest in a career working in the field of electro-mechanical systems, machine design, structural design, FEA, and solid modeling.

This position offers a chance to enhance the educational experience by working in a team of engineers engaged in projects to design and manufacture precision machines, structural weldments, and electro-mechanical devices.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
•Participate in the development of conceptual designs for new electro-mechanical systems
•Work on 3D design models
•Help to prepare 2D drawings for fabrication, assembly, and inspection of components
•Generate Bills of Materials
•Participate in the testing of systems for validation and verification of design
•Work on 3D CAD document control and library update activities.
