Trainee Mechanical engineer Bexley, London £18k - £21k (p.a)
A great opportunity within a well-established company to Train as a Mechanical engineer with opportunities for career development. Undertake a training program of technical learning and hands on experience, in order to gain the required knowledge to supervise installation projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of technical skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
• Spend extended periods of time away from home, working as Trainee Installers, to gain the experience required to supervise construction projects.
• To be able to demonstrate the learned skills, by working independently or in a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the company.
• To undertake and successfully complete suitable courses throughout the training program.
• Learning and understanding the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace.
• To develop the skills to read technical drawings, follow quality control policies and procedures and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
• To learn how to maintain Company-owned equipment and to keep it in good repair.
• To maintain a competency checklist over the duration of the training period, recording projects that have been undertaken and the skills learnt.
• To maintain a smart appearance and to act in a professional manner at all times whether in the office or at a job location.
• Availability for travelling as per the requirements on projects
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Demonstrable interest or experience in mechanical engineering through school or hobby interest.
• Degree/ College preferable
• Excellent communication skills
