Part Time - Flexible hours
Competitive salary and benefit scheme

Sue Ryder is looking for an outstanding Volunteer Coordinator to grow volunteer numbers in our Retail South region and engage with our ever increasing volunteer community.

Can you help our retail teams to increase the number of volunteers at Sue Ryder? Are you a great people person, who enjoys public speaking, developing partnerships and supporting people to engage with their communities? Then we would love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Retail Regional Manager and working closely with the Retail Area Managers, shop teams, and the National Volunteering Team you will facilitate the recruitment of volunteers within the South region to achieve our goal of over 11,500 nationally. Whilst ensuring National best practice standards are delivered on a local level you'll develop strong relationships with schools, colleges and universities while maintaining our current successful programmes with volunteers from HMP Service and the Job Centre. Using your expertise and knowledge of the voluntary sector, you will create an attractive volunteering proposition that retains people through engagement, and help to form a new Induction programme which supports our ethos.

You will ideally have previous volunteer operations experience from a multi-site organisation. An excellent organiser you will be used to working on many different projects and have the ability to use your confident communication skills to develop essential relationships across Sue Ryder and beyond.

We have over 450 charity shops across the country that ultimately provides 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical and emotional support every year. This is a key role within our retail business that enables us to continue doing this with the help of our volunteers.

This role can be home based with regular travel within your region of up to 15,000-20,000 miles per year to meet business needs.
