Volunteer Coordinator Lincoln, Massachusetts

Care Dimensions was founded in 1978 as Hospice of the North Shore and was one of the nation's first hospice programs. We have evolved from a small, all-volunteer agency and today we are the largest hospice in Massachusetts with a staff of more than 700 and 500 volunteers. In 2019, we cared for 5,639 hospice patients and more than 1570 palliative care patients. We serve an average of 958 hospice patients and 600 palliative care patients each day.

How You'll Contribute:

Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Services & Complementary Therapies, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the logistics of the Volunteer Program, including applications and screening, record management, recruitment, training, assigning and supervising volunteers.

What You'll Bring:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent, in related discipline such as social work, psychology, education, human services, or business. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of program administration or office management experience in a healthcare or non-profit setting, preferably in a volunteer program or having served as a volunteer in a non-profit agency.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing volunteer recruitment events.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally.
  • Demonstrated ability to present a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient/family needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and obtain results through others.
