We are now looking for Trainee Prosthetic Technicians to join our Central Fabrication unit in Atlas Way, Sheffield.

As a Trainee Prosthetic Technician, you'll learn to manufacture, repair and adjust a wide range of prosthetic products, each one specifically designed to meet the individual patient's needs.

These are fulfilling and challenging roles for proactive individuals who thrive in a customer focussed manufacturing environment, where you'll manufacture and modify specialist equipment precisely and effectively.

The unique and specialised nature of the role means that specific experience in prosthetic manufacturing is not essential, and full training will be provided. We are ideally looking for people who are enthusiastic about developing a career with us in these hands-on roles.

About the Trainee Prosthetic Technicians role:

Joining us as a trainee means you will work closely with your designated mentor, receiving training and guidance in the core skills and work areas, to enable you to undertake the role effectively and you will work towards completion of relevant training portfolios to demonstrate your abilities.

The nature of the role is varied so successful candidates will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines and when working under pressure. This is a permanent position and as standard the core working hours are 37.5 hours a week on Monday to Friday. There is the possibility that the working hours may move to shifts between Monday and Friday in the future.

Trainee Prosthetic Technicians Requirements:

Ideally you'll be a practically minded, methodical individual, who thrives in a 'hands on' role and has good problem solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. You'll also need to be focused and flexible in your approach, and able to operate in a pressured environment. You will be a reliable team worker with excellent communication skills and be able to be trusted to complete tasks accurately and to deadline. You will use these skills to interpret information supplied by clinicians to undertake repairs and adjustments to patient's prostheses using a wide range of appropriate materials and tools.
