Apprentice / Trainee Service Engineer - Kubota Tractors / Mowers - Leading Agricultural Machinery Dealership
Circa £5 per hour (first year) + College Education

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm

Who we are…

Established in 1947, we are a family business that has steadily grown to become one of the more influential dealerships in the South of England. With just over 240 people in the team, we supply and support machinery to the Groundcare, Construction and Agricultural markets, a mix that has allowed us to weather the toughest of economic times. Our focus is 'Sales with Service' whereby we aim to provide the very highest levels of after sales care to our well-established customer base, something that led us to be awarded the Kubota Gold Plus award for service excellence. This doesn't mean we get everything right, but we work hard to constantly improve the service on offer.

About the role…

As a Groundcare Service Apprentice, you will be joining an experienced team of Field Service Engineers who will pass their knowledge onto the next generation. The work is extremely varied and will see you working on Kubota's range of Compact tractors and ride on mowers - the kind that are used by Golf Courses, Councils, Private Estates and Sports Grounds. Some of this takes place within our workshops, but much is out on site where you begin with the basics of servicing before moving onto repairs, diagnostics and fault finding

The apprenticeship is run in conjunction with Kubota, with block release at college and then you will spend time with us to develop what you have learnt during your time away.

At college, you will cover mechanical principles, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrics - in fact everything you need to build a sound engineering foundation.

On the assumption that you pass the apprenticeship, you will be well on the way to getting a service van of your own, and the beginnings of what should be the start of a very long and rewarding career.

About you…

You need to be able to work in a team and independently as necessary, to be punctual and self-motivated. You will have good communication skills, asking questions and listening to an acting upon answers. To be of a reliable and honest nature. Candidates will need to demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and a mechanical aptitude. To be able to enjoy the challenge of working in an industry with the diverse range of equipment that is employed.
Qualifications required: Ideally you will have gained - GCSE grade 4 and above including Maths and English language and ideally a Science.
