The Harris County Engineering Department is seeking motivated summer interns in the fields of Engineering (emphasis on Civil and structural engineering), as well as Surveying, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Drafting/Design, Public Policy, and Urban Planning.

Candidates majoring in Engineering (emphasis on Civil and Structural Engineering), as well as Surveying, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Drafting/Design, Public Policy, and Urban Planning should have completed a minimum of two years of study. The candidate must have completed a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours (4 courses) in courses relative to their chosen major.

Candidates majoring in Drafting/Design should be eligible for final year of a degree program from an accredited college or university. The candidate must have completed a minimum of three (3) courses relative to their drafting/design program.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, responsible for providing infrastructure solutions to the third largest County in the United States. The salary will be $3,000 per month for three months. Interested students should provide a resume indicating classes taken, software competency, and other associated skills or experiences. Additionally, a letter should be included outlining why they chose their respective field, what they would like do to upon graduation, and why they would like to work for Harris County. Any additional information, such as previous military service, should be included along with contact information.
