Junior/Graduate Data Analyst - North Bristol - Salary range dependant on experience
I am seeking a Junior/Graduate Data Analyst to work for a rapidly expanding insurance business based on the outskirts of Bristol. The role will involve working in a small team delivering portfolio, competitor and performance analysis in order to provide recommendations to the business for a variety of insurance products.
The successful candidate for this role will come from a mathematical background, and will ideally be degree qualified in maths, statistics or quantitative marketing/analysis. You will have either commercial or educational experience of analysing trends in large data sets and will need to be an excellent communicator, as the role will involve making recommendations back to the business to increase profitability improve productivity and performance. This is a highly technical role, so a mathematical and analytical background is essential.
The following skills will be used in the role:
* SAS Programming using Base, SQL and Stat (training will be provided in this)
* Advanced Excel, SQL and VBA skills
* Analysing large volumes of data
* Broad and detailed knowledge of statistical techniques
* Providing analytical reports
* The ability to understand business process and how changes impact data
Our client are an extremely fast moving company, so the ability to work in an agile way within a small business is a key requirement of the role. You must also be able to use your own initiative and have the ability to work unsupervised when required.
This represents a fantastic opportunity for a graduate Analyst to learn an awful lot very quickly in an organisation who are expanding rapidly at an early stage of their development. You will have a significant say in how the work within the department is done once you are established, and you will be given real autonomy in the day to day workings of the role. Full training will be provided to an individual with the right analytical background, so the role would suit either a fresh graduate or someone with some work experience in a similar position.
