Are you looking for a role that can kick start your career within the Construction and Highways Industry? Via currently has fantastic opportunities to join our Construction and Maintenance Team as a Highways Maintenance Apprentice based at our Blyth Depot.
As a Highways Maintenance Apprentice, you will gain first-rate training and mentoring along with hands on experience and the practical qualifications to prove it! Throughout the training period you will gain an NVQ level 2 in Highways Maintenance as well as gaining additional nationally recognised industry qualifications eg: NRSWA
About the role:
Within your role you will work under the support and direction of experienced operatives delivering work on Highway Construction and Maintenance projects, such as tarmacing, concreting, and various groundworks.
You will gain competence in the operation of light plant and other construction equipment, such as Road Rollers, Breakers and Stihl Saws and gain an understanding of the documentation and specifications associated with highway construction and maintenance works.
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for a capable and motivated individual who has an interest in civil engineering and the construction/highways industry.
The ideal candidate will hold at least one of the following:
A minimum of 3 GCSE's at grade C/4 or equivalent
Hold level 1 English and Maths functional skills qualifications or have the ability to study to achieve this level upon completion of the apprenticeship
Full Driving Licence (Desirable)
