Your new job in Cambridge

As Safety Engineer in the Central Technology Solutions group, you will join a growing and highly motivated team responsible for supporting our client's partners in applying IP and safety technologies in their latest state of the art projects, including:

* Execution of solutions level safety analysis following inductive qualitative and quantitative methods, FMEDA, DFA, FMEA, SPFM/LFM and PMHF and deductive methods, FTA and STPA and delivery of final reports according to the state-of-art methodologies and tools.
* Contribution to establish the safety analysis methodologies; evaluation of new tools and proposition of new creative practices to enable efficient application and adoption of safety processes.
* Support the development of creative technical safety concepts in the early proof of concept phase and derivation of the system-level functional safety requirements at architecture level, and cascading the requirements to systems, sub-systems and components.
* System Level HW and SW Safety Mechanisms prototyping and development.
* Developing knowledge of the Functional Safety Standards ISO26262, IEC61508 and ISO/PAS 21448 (SOTIF).

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Skills & Qualities

* Experience working in projects that follow one or more of the following safety standards, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, EN 5012X, DO-254, DO-178C
* A system level approach to safety and the skill to decompose these translate into lower level requirements.
* Experience with developing functional safety processes and documentation and investigating new tools and approaches.
* Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for success; we are looking for excellent written and spoken English.
* We seek enthusiasm and flexibility in putting customers first; you are hardworking with a real passion for enabling others to succeed.

Desirable Skills & Qualities

* Model-based Software Design experience: embedded systems design and simulation of an executable model with test and debug capabilities.
* Knowledge of HDL, as Verilog and VHDL, and Synthesis Tools
* Experience on Python or Perl, Assembly language and programming languages such as C or C++
* Design and development of electronics systems, or HW/SW platforms with knowledge of both hardware (microprocessors, interconnects, memory controllers, etc.) and Embedded SW (software test libraries, hypervisor, virtualization, etc.).
* Perform IP or SoC or system-level fault analysis and produce the required reports. You are familiar and flexible in the use of various software development lifecycle methods including Agile
