In this role, the Junior IT Technician will be working closely with the IT Technicians and support them with all IT administration, system control and equipment set up.

The Junior IT Technician will play an important role in providing IT support across the business on a day to day basis. This is an entry level role for an individual interested in pursuing a career in IT and DevOps.

What will you be doing?

+ Create user accounts, manage permissions and passwords for employees and contractors
+ Monitor responses to requests raised within the Service Desk, providing remote and hands-on support and responding to any queries in a timely manner
+ Providing telephone and email support to customers
+ Responding to simple equipment support requests (e.g. changing printer toner, replacing cables, setting up projectors, moving computers, installing software etc.)
+ Maintaining high standards regarding customer communications and response times
+ Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current operating systems and standard software packages, including both Microsoft Windows and macOS
+ Engaging in training opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in key areas, such as desktop support, networking and operating systems
+ Monitoring and resolving failed orders issues
+ Completing any other IT support related tasks as requested by the line manager or a senior member of staff

What are we looking for?

+ Experience with Microsoft operating systems, including installation and configuration
+ Experience with computer and peripheral hardware servicing and basic repairs
+ A true passion and interest for all things IT and tech with a desire to learn
+ Some IT/Computing qualifications (GCSE, BTEC, A-Level) are preferable but not essential
+ Knowledge and understanding of standard office software packages
+ A good standard of written and oral communication - strong customer service skills
+ Ability to work effectively within a team environment, both taking direction from and supporting other colleagues
+ Organised and methodical approach to work
