Junior Java Developer - Product Development Team - FinTech - £80k

Leading London based FinTech is looking to hire a passionate Java developer with a strong computer science background to join the product development team. You must have a desire to immerse yourself in a modern, fast-moving start-up environment.

Our client utilises quantitative expertise to enhance returns by reducing trading costs and has become the market standard for driving capital efficiency. As a member of the Product Development Team you will help expand the cloud-native technology stack efficiently, as well as scaling the product capabilities.

The Role:

You will be a key engineer in the product team, with responsibility for the range of development required to onboard customers, integrating derivatives valuation models, interpreting client position data, and building back-end services that expose business functionality in the product.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Write the code that powers the product (you will be exposed to both the low-level detail of financial products, valuations, and methodologies as well as the high-level business drivers)
• Build in-depth quantitative analytics skills to enhance the product and add value to clients
• Become familiar with the AWS-based infrastructure
• Work alongside quants, developers and business users

Technical requirements

• Java / Angular / AWS
• Design - object-oriented analysis and design; sound judgement of design trade-offs; ability to test
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science
