Junior Metallurgist Reading , Pennsylvania

Seeking a Metallurgist to provide coverage related to the current SAP project implementation. This position is at the forefront of innovation in the fast-paced environment. Client is implementing SAP S/4HANA at many of its locations along with a solution for requirements and specification consolidation for test plans. The successful candidate will learn the solution and help drive a successful implementation across Carpenter locations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Demonstrates the ability to provide training and education to internal users.
Provides coaching and support to less-experienced staff relating to use of the SAP / QPPD solution.
Provides support, leadership and guidance to peers relating to SAP / QPPD solution.
Leads others in the use of SAP / QPPD solution.
Review customer specifications and requirements and compare to system generated data to ensure integrity of solution.
Support project and business users through testing cycles with review of quality issues and test defects.
Act as technical resource for QPPD solution at assigned site(s), supporting key process and product metallurgists, manufacturing and lab personnel in learning the solution.
Interact with Carpenter metallurgy, manufacturing and IT staff at Carpenter facilities to lead and assist with implementation of SAP / QPPD solution improvements.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Citizenship: This applicant filling this position must be ITAR/EAR compliant ~ US citizen or green card holder.
Four-year college degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or related field with a concentration on metals.
Familiarity with SAP (S4/HANA or ECC) desired.
Knowledge of common product quality tests such as chemical, mechanical and NDT is desired.
0-3 years industry experience desired.
Ability to communicate and articulate concepts well on both a highly technical and non-technical level.
Ability to travel and access mill and manufacturing areas ~ travel 15-25%.
Ability to provide training and education to key internal resources.
Ability to be self-directed and serve as a mentor to internal resources.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge in metals manufacturing and testing is desired.
Proficient project management skills needed to drive towards project milestones and desired outcomes.
Ability to make significant individual contribution to attainment of team objectives.
Must be able to set clear priorities, commit to achieving deliverables, and deliver on commitments on time with above-the-line accountability.
Ability to provide support and guidance to peers in key projects areas related to custom QPPD solution.
Ability to meet the expectations and requirements of internal key stakeholders and makes decisions based on information gained from strong interactions.
Willing to speak up and speak out, but can reach consensus based on information at hand. Capable of taking on tough assignments both independently and in team-based settings.
