Junior VB.NET Developer University Of Richmond , Virginia
Contract position with a client of ours in downtown Richmond, VA
Must sit onsite no remote

Need for a Webservices Programmer/ Support Analyst to develop and maintain programs supporting enterprise imaging applications. The applications are developed in VB.Net and Java using various software development toolkits. The applications being supported store images using an Informix database.
Skillset required: VB.Net, SQL Server, Linux/UNIX
Technical Skills:
Operating System Experience: Unix/Linux -primary
VB.Net Development experience with application development and analysis
Programming experience most desired: VB.Net in an imaging application
Requirements analysis experience desired
Database SQL in a relational database experience required. Informix experience desired. Microsoft SQL Server helpful. Additional consideration given for candidates who have experience with Informix, previous technical support experience, apache, tomcat, JavaScript, C#, ODBC . Experience developing applications and formulating requirements in a collaborative environment is desirable, as well as experience developing support tools, unit testing and setting up multiple environments for production releases and Quality Assurance.
Soft Skills:
-Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Ability to interact with other developers, business analysts, and second level support engineers
DUTIES:
-Software Support, Maintenance and Development in .Net environment using agile methodologies.
-Development of tools and reporting programs for proactive support activities
-Distribution of new software releases, database changes and maintenance
-Analysis skills critical
-Possible creation of UNIX scripts for deployment, requirement analysis documents
-Training, documentation and knowledge transfer of completed applications
The successful applicant will need excellent communication skills, a flexible work attitude, and previous programming skills. Experience with Agile programming methodology having multiple software iterations is desirable.
