Junior/Mid-weight UX Architect - London
£45 to £50k (12 month FTC)
My client, an award-winning UK News Publisher is looking for a Junior User Experience Architect, someone who's at the upper end of the junior scale and ready to go to middleweight ideally. This is a 12 month Maternity Leave.
They are a small, User Experience & Design team who need great creative people with drive, passion and a desire to innovate to come on board and help them make this happen.
The ideal person
You have an appetite to work within a small agency style team, on a mixture of projects.
You love working mobile first, but also understand desktop and other platforms
You are a strong conceptual thinker & can develop UX strategy
You thrive on interpreting user research, and challenging it if you don't think it's robust
You are happy working autonomously when needed and really enjoy working collaboratively
with Design and Development team members
You are passionate about creating elegant, simple interaction & experiences
Responsibilities
You will:
Be mindful of stakeholder needs, both user and business
Create highly engaging and intuitive user interfaces
Be able to challenge and critique briefs and UI visual designs
Always strive for a creative or innovative solution when possible
Be able to rationalise your solutions to the project team
Have incredible attention to detail
Assist in running UX and strategy workshops when needed
Be a brilliant communicator face-to-face in groups
Requirements, qualifications and experience
You will most likely have 1-2 years industry experience, agency side or client-side
You will have a solid background and understanding of UCD
You will understand how to interpret user research and data to develop insights leading to working UX theories and concepts
You know all about user experience, cognitive models, cultural modes of interaction, neurophysiology and how it affects perception, interaction principles, and why they are important
You are able to demonstrate and articulate your approach to the UX process
You are able to articulate / rationalise your experience design decisions
You will have worked on mobile, tablet, web projects
You will have experience in using Sketch, Axure Pro, OmniGraffle, Photoshop, Marvel or Flinto and the Google apps suite
You have a UX/HCI/Product or Industrial Design qualification
