Working hours: 31.5 hours Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 3.30pm Fridays 8.30am - 12pm
Time spent in training: You are required to spend a minimum of 7 hours per week in training that supports your apprenticeship course
Course entry requirements: GCSEs at grade D/level 3 or above in English and Maths

About the role:

This preschool provides a welcoming, happy and safe environment for preschool children aged between 2-5 years old. My client's aim is to encourage children to learn, gain confidence, become socially aware and develop the ability to express themselves in a caring and friendly environment.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • To act as Key Person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers ensuring each child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs are met.
  • To provide high quality practice and provision for 2-year olds to support all children to reach their full potential, particularly in the prime areas of learning and development. To complete a 2 Year Progress Check when the child starts preschool at the age of 2.
  • To assist in the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment.
  • To ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are always maintained.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Working knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures
  • Competent in a range of IT systems and software
  • Ability to work with others to achieve objectives and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
  • Accuracy and ability to prioritise and organise own workload
