Are you the face of British Red Cross fundraising?

Our shop volunteers are the first point of contact for customers when they enter our shops, providing a warm welcome, a helping hand, and driving donations.

Being a volunteer is a unique experience where you can gain and enhance various skills, meet lots of new faces every day, and have a say in how the shop looks and feels. Your efforts will help us raise as much money as possible to help those in crisis.

You'll be perfect for this role if

You're interested in gaining experience in the retail sector. You'll be gaining valuable experience in customer service and visual merchandising, which are highly transferable workplace skills. While developing your abilities, you'll be meeting and engaging with a wide range of people from various backgrounds.

You'll possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills and be comfortable working alone and unsupervised as required.

We won't just leave you to it - you'll get support to develop your retail skills through our in-house retail Volunteer Journey training and our e-learning facility so you can represent the British Red Cross with confidence.

As a Shop Volunteer, no two days are ever the same.

Day to day, you'll be:
  • Serving customers on the tills, cash handling and proving an excellent customer experience
  • Unpacking and pricing stock when required
  • Designing attractive shop and window displays
  • Keeping the shop tidy, clean and well organised
  • Interacting with the public
