We’re looking for a software developer to help shape our global service, creating high quality, creative software solutions for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. With the ability to organise your own workload, you will be disciplined and methodical with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Eager and quick to learn, you will have a probing mind, the ability to think laterally and able to work under minimal supervision. The successful candidate may also be required to attend customer sites for installations and provide client training.
You will be someone who:

• A relevant higher education or degree qualification or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable experience of software development
• Experience of programming languages such Java/Spring, HTML5/Javascript/Angular, C#, .NET, WinForms, WPF/XAML, C
• High level of numeracy, preferably qualified in a science, mathematics, or engineering discipline
• Ability to travel independently
Although not essential, you might also have some experience of:
• Python, Django
• Unit testing, TDD
• Perforce Source Control
• The oil and gas industry
About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity to start your software development your career with a well-known and respected company within the oil and gas industry. Helping maintain our existing products and develop new product features, you will also be expected to analyse customers’ requirements and implement effective solutions.
Initially you will be working on an exciting project. Liaising remotely with our team in Maulburg in Germany, you will be part of an Agile development environment, predominately using the Angular and Java/ Spring frameworks, so it’s important you are comfortable with these languages.Beyond this, you will have opportunities to get involved in other projects, research and development and finding solutions to improve our technology. You may also be required to offer some technical support to production, engineering, and field-service colleagues.Working within a small team you will report directly to our Software Development Manager. You will be based at our office in Melsonby, North Yorkshire. There may be some travel to and work from clients’ sites and overnight stays, with opportunities for occasional international travel.What about the benefits?
