Trainee Transport Planner job in New Milton
Dovetail Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for our well-established client in the New Forest. The company are going through a steady period of growth and they are recruiting for a Trainee Transport Planner or experienced Transport Planner to join them.
The role would include coordinating the fleet of vehicles, planning routes, tracking their progress and maximising utilisation in line with set regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Route planning for a variety of vehicles
* Ensure any difficulties that may arise are reported to drivers
* Scheduling drivers throughout the day to monitor their progress and take necessary measures to ensure that the work is completed each day.
* Maintain driver records electronically and in paper format
* Ensure drivers and vehicles are legal at all times
* Liaise with the sales team regarding issues, customers and time scales
* Driver brief and de-brief
* Adhoc duties as required
Knowledge and Experience:
* Able to work well as part of a team, but also be able to work on your own initiative
* Good geographical knowledge of the local area
* Able to work under pressure
* Excellent communication skills and able to build relationships.
Salary and Benefits:
* 22 days holiday + bank holiday
* Salary dependant on experience
* 37.5 hour week

Full training will be given to the successful candidate. The position could lead to gaining industry recognised qualifications for the right candidate.
