2005- Present Mental Health care assistant - This includes all aspects of care, Personal, financial, emotional and physical. My training and role as a care assistant is to assist the elderly, disabled, and mentally ill. I work 24 hour shifts in private homes to help patients with their daily tasks such as grooming, meal preparation, medication administration and any other task needed. Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence help in use and care of aids and personal equipment. Care for residents temporarily sick and needing, for example, minor dressings. Help care for residents who are terminally ill. Help in the promotion of mental well being and physical activity of residents through positive conversation, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
