The company complies with European FDA standards. My role in the company was within the warehouse. I was responsible for stock control and the delivery of goods throughout Europe, as well as the receipt of equipment, materials and chemicals. The nature of the products required the utmost organisation and attention to detail, as each product had different requirements in terms of storage and delivery. This included biohazardous chemicals, highly flammable chemicals, and medicines which had to be escorted by police. Software used was SAP R/3 and Excel for database management and stock control. Lotus Notes and Outlook were used for interdepartmental communications. Administration of delivery notes and orders, preparation of shipping documentation and international haulage documentation, and allocation of stock were among the daily duties. Specific stock control duties included reconciling and allocating stock, ensuring correct and safe storage of stock, and checking certificates and documentation on receipt of stock.
