September 2008 - January 2011 Human Rights Research, Advice and Information Volunteer Age UK, Commoneal, Wellington Street, Stockport I attended three training days organised by the British Institute of Human Rights to prepare for and discuss the research with three other Age Concerns looking at the human rights issues in the areas and enabling older people in the community to feel confident to campaign for changes. I attended the focus group for the data collection and gained hands on experience. In my Advice and Information role, I advised the public on a variety of problems they were facing due to governmental changes or social issues. I felt productive in this role and enjoyed empowering people with information.
