January 2014 - present Professional NHS Tutor and Promoter Volunteer - Expert Patients Programme I am an Accredited Tutor, having successfully completed and passed three course deliveries in the community. The programme uses a Stanford University evidence-based approved course and tests my skills handling a group with complex problems and difficult behaviours. I have helped promote the programme, giving my story at various support groups in the community, and venue managed, ensuring there are enough supplies available at the venue. I have Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Fibromyalgia and it has helped me learn to self-manage these conditions. I pursue a Personal Development Plan and am involved in a zonal research project. I have been praised for my professionalism, kindness and friendliness on many occasions.

September 2008 - January 2011 Human Rights Research, Advice and Information Volunteer Age UK, Commoneal, Wellington Street, Stockport I attended three training days organised by the British Institute of Human Rights to prepare for and discuss the research with three other Age Concerns looking at the human rights issues in the areas and enabling older people in the community to feel confident to campaign for changes. I attended the focus group for the data collection and gained hands on experience. In my Advice and Information role, I advised the public on a variety of problems they were facing due to governmental changes or social issues. I felt productive in this role and enjoyed empowering people with information.
