Sarah West Recruitment is an amalgamation of energy, friendship and recruitment experience between the directors - Sarah Knight and Celina West. Both highly experienced recruiters from the Exeter area, Sarah and Celina's career histories compliment each other to the advantage of the clients and candidates they represent. My recruitment career started in 1998 when I moved from the South East to Exeter.

A top performer within every employment agency I have been employed by, when there was not an opportunity to progress into a senior management position in the local area I simply opened up my own agency.

My preference has always been to work for independent agencies, I like their warmth, local knowledge and expertise. At Sarah West Recruitment we have fostered a reputation for being approachable, supportive and flexible in our work, offering an unrivalled ‘human touch' in our dealings with both clients and candidates.

My position with Sarah West Recruitment is all encompassing with a focus on ensuring the company delivers an exceptional recruitment service to candidates and clients. Making sure the company adheres to the highest standards within the industry, promoting the Sarah West Recruitment brand and driving forward sales.

A 'hands on' and knowledgeable senior recruiter with a passion for permanent recruitment representing public and private sector organisations of all sizes within the region. I have been a consultant of choice for large company's such as Cadburys Schweppes, BT, KCom Group and Edward Jones as well as some of the South West's 'up and coming' organisations. I thoroughly enjoy working with SME's and being instrumental in their growth, I enjoy consulting, researching and providing the right permanent staff based on the needs of the company and candidates. I enjoy recruiting at all levels from trainee through to senior management positions, spanning all the industries in the area.

Celina West

My recruitment career began in 1992 with a large corporate agency running the BT contract, recruiting operators, admin and IT helpdesk staff. I then worked for a very successful independent agency, where I won the Top Performer Award for several consecutive years. I ran a number of local contracts , including South West Water and London & Manchester (now Friends Provident). During my career I have recruited for a diverse range of companies and skill sets on both a temporary and permanent basis.

I worked my way from Recruitment Consultant through to Branch and then Regional Manager positions. In my last role for a large Corporate Agency I was Regional Director with 13 branches throughout the South West of England, with responsibility for a £12 million budget and onsite recruitment for a number of well known companies including Glaxo SmithKline, Intel, a number of High Street Banks and a portfolio of local companies serviced by each of the branches. I work closely with clients to really understand their needs and look long term past the initial placement through to staff retention, perhaps implementing a competency framework where necessary.

I strongly believe in really stripping down each job description and c.v , past the buzz words and job titles, to the pure skills and personality attributes required. In this way I have successfully placed scores of people who may not have got through the selection process on c.v alone.
